Joseph "Joey" Burns

Joseph “Joey” Burns, 27, of South Glens Falls, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 13, 2024.

Born on September 21, 1997, in Yonkers, NY, Joey was the cherished son of James Burns and Cathyren Caggiano Demko. He graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 2016 and went on to further his education at SUNY Adirondack.

Joey had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, finding solace and joy in fishing. A lover of classic rock music, he was rarely without his favorite tunes playing in the background. Joey was also a devoted sports fan, proudly cheering on the New York Yankees and the New Orleans Saints.

He is survived by his loving mother, Cathyren Demko (David); his father, James Burns (Lisa); his grandmother, Georgia Danielson; stepbrother Kyle; stepsisters Lyndsey Norris, Ashley Pratt, Nevaeh, and Eliessia; uncles Norbert Caggiano (Lorraine) and Victor Caggiano; aunts Michele Schultz (Richard), Melanie Danielson, Jennifer Bates (Dennis), and Nicole Arizag (Manny); as well as his brother-in-law Ray, sister-in-law Dani, nephews Adin and Liam, and nieces Isabella and Alexandria; his beloved dog Patches, whom he cherished deeply.  Joey also leaves behind many cousins and countless friends who will miss his kind heart, vibrant personality and smile and of course his witty sarcastic humor.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Jerry Caggiano, Fred Danielson, James Burns and Edith Caggiano known as Omi to Joey, his cherished grandmother, with whom he shared a close bond.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.

A Mass Service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY.
