Jose Antonio Valencia Benitez

Jose Antonio (Tony) Valencia Benitez, 55, of Wilton, NY, passed away at Saratoga Hospital on July 8th after a brief illness. He was surrounded by family and friends. 

Tony was born to Carolina Benitez and Antonio Valencia on November 2nd,1967 in Acapulco, Mexico. He resided in Boca Raton, FL for many years before moving to New York. Tony was employed at Arturo’s Restaurant in Boca Raton for 26 years and at Nové Italian Restaurant in Wilton, NY for 10 years. He built a great rapport with his customers that turned into lifelong friendships. Many people called Tony their best friend because he was a great listener, caring, selfless, loving, and had a heart of gold, and was willing to help anyone. His death is a tremendous loss for everyone who knew and loved him.

Tony loved cooking for everyone. He also enjoyed trying his luck at the Saratoga Casino where he could never lose.

In addition to his parents, Tony is survived by his two sons Christian and Brandon; his siblings Miguel (Maria), Alma, Analuisa and Anbrina; his loving wife, Betty; and stepdaughters Katherine, Natalia & Janelle MacDonald and Sandra Walford. Tony also leaves behind his granddaughters Suzy and Zoe, one grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

Tony’s co-workers became a second family to him. He will be missed by all of them, especially by his work partners Rob, Ashley, David & Grant, and his dear friends Gabi, Mundo & Anthony and so many others.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of the Saratoga Hospital Medical Group, especially Dr. Seana Mosher.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Route 9 and/or Marion Ave), Saratoga Springs, NY.  A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. following the celebration of life.
