John Woodcock

PORTER CORNERS - John Woodcock, age 67, passed away on January 6, 2022, at Saratoga Hospital due to complications of Covid.

He was born on September 16, 1954, in Corinth, NY, the son of the late Harold Woodcock and Hazel (Steele) Woodcock.

John was a graduate of Corinth High School, class of 1973.

John was a Custodian for the Saratoga Springs City School District for many years, his last position was at Greenfield Elementary School, which he loved.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, corn hole, poker, pool, horseshoes, going to camp at Stewarts Pond, and spending time with family and friends.

John is survived by his soul mate and wife, Karol Woodcock of 43 years; brother, Charles Woodcock; sisters, Rose Threw, Lena Bowen (Jim); three daughters, Lisa Hollner (Kevin), Kristie Woodcock (friends Matt, Jim Showen), Stacy Woodcock (fiancé Jeremey Wilson); seven grandchildren, Kristian Showen (Angel), Kaylee Showen (Liam), Louralleah Hollner, Jeremey Wilson Jr., Leanna Hollner, Jersei Hollner, Jenna Hollner; sisters-in-law, Christina Woodcock (Richard), Bonita Sarro and Joyce Sarro; brothers-in-law, Dennis Sarro (Cindy), Terrance Sarro Sr., Gene Sarro; his two favorite dogs, Teddy and Jenny; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Woodcock and his sister, Patricia Cumm.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Family and friends may call from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
