Joanne M. Woodcock, 82, passed away January 13, 2023 at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 18, 1940 in Newburgh NY, the daughter of Festus and Mary A. Beatty.
Joanne grew up in the Ballston Spa area and attended Ballston Spa schools.
She worked for Racemark International for 25+ years, previous to this she worked for a sewing company Van Raalte Mill where she sewed under garments. Upon retirement. Joanne lived her life cooking for her family.
Joanne married Kenneth the love of her life in 1959 and they were happily married for 57 years. She enjoyed watching cooking and game shows, dancing and going to BBQ’s. During her past time Joanne also enjoyed scratch off tickets her favorites were Lucky 7 and the cross words. She also enjoyed doing word searches and crossword puzzles. her greatest joy was spending time with her family and going up north camping. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joanne is survived by her four children Melissa (Eric) Groff of Stillwater: Kenneth (Sheila) Woodcock of Greenfield Center; Kimberly (David) Kimball of Gansevoort; and Deborah (Jason) Wright of Fort Edward; her two brothers Thomas (Hallie) Beatty and John(Gail) Beatty; her grandchildren Kenneth Woodcock III; Chad Keefe; Shavon Keefe (Tim) Hobbins; April (Vern) Dorgan; Magen (Chris ) Garrison; Tara (Corey) Ringer; Brooke (Eric) Culver; Tammi Hughes; Michael Kimball; and 15 great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
Joanne is predeceased by her husband Kenneth J. Woodcock, her parents Festus and Mary Beatty; two sisters Jeanne Aschmutat and Nanette Garneau, and a grandchild Mark A. Woodcock.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at North Milton Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, NY.
