Joanne Adamy Olsen

Joanne Adamy Olsen, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Wesley health care center. 
She was born on March 15, 1933, in Geneseo, New York, to the late George and Frances Lawrence Adamy.
Joanne graduated from East High School in Corning, NY and furthered her education at Geneseo State Teachers College.  She was a substitute elementary teacher in Saratoga Springs, and in her later years a secretary at the Math and Computer Departments of Skidmore College.
Joanne enjoyed the piano, playing on the radio program "Teens and Tunes" in Corning in her youth.  She played piano at a restaurant in Lake George and on some of the cruise boats also.  She played the cello in the Ballston Spa Community Orchestra in the past.  Joanne continued piano even at Wesley in her eighties.  She enjoyed macrame and creating terrariums, crafts and decorating.
Joanne is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Olsen Larmon, her sisters, Marcia Adamy of Corning and MaryLou (Robert) English of Summerfield, Florida, several nieces and nephews, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 
She is preceded in death by her sister Barbara Piersons of Bath NY, and her nephew Scott Piersons, of Rochester NY. 
The family would like to extend compliments and gratitude to the wonderful staff of Wesley Health Care Center for Joanne's tender care.  Donations In Her memory may be made to Wesley at 131 Lawrence Street, Saratoga springs by 12866.
There are no calling hours and there will be a graveside service in Painted Post In the future.
