Jennifer McIntosh, age 54 passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Glens Falls Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born on June 15, 1970 in Glens Falls, NY, the daughter of Thomas W. McIntosh and Joyce G. Baker Hammond.
Jennifer was deeply devoted to her NA meetings and went on to become a sponsor, offering support and guidance to others on their recovery journey. She was a devoted mother to her beloved son, Kurtis. Their bond was unbreakable, and she dedicated her life to nurturing, guiding, and cherishing him. Her love for him was evident in every aspect of her life, and she took immense pride in his accomplishments, always being his biggest cheerleader. She was known for her kind heart, infectious smile, and generous spirit. Her home was always open, filled with warmth and laughter, and she made everyone feel like family. She especially enjoyed family picnics and get-togethers. Jennifer shared an exceptionally close bond with her beloved granddaughter, Emma. Their relationship was one of profound love and mutual admiration. She spent countless cherished moments with Emma, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her mother, Joyce, held a special place in Jennifer’s heart. She cherished the wisdom, guidance, and love her mother provided throughout her life. Their bond was a testament to the strength and beauty of a mother-daughter relationship. Jennifer cherished the artistry and legacy of her father, Thomas, whose work as an artist deeply influenced her life. She held his creations in the highest regard, often speaking of the beauty and inspiration they brought to the world. Jennifer's admiration for her father's talent was evident in the way she lovingly preserved and celebrated his artwork. In her spare time, Jennifer cherished attending NA meetings and enjoying special lunches and dinners with those she had positively influenced within the NA community, especially her good friend Deborah Vaughn. She also loved and adored spending time with her dog, Pepper, and they were inseparable.
Jennifer is survived by her son, Kurtis John (Andrea Johnson); granddaughter, Emma Lee John, Beau Varney; sisters Connie J. McIntosh, Laura J. McIntosh (Jeff) and Marlene Reyes; uncle Raymond Gregory; special aunts Beverly M. Morrissey, Teri A. Reyes and Carol Towne; a very special cousin and best friend Cheryl Lee Levasseur, Tyrae Reyes and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Bobby J” John; her parents, Thomas W. McIntosh and Joyce Gregory Baker Hammond; uncle, Marvin Gregory; sisters, Melissa L. Cash, Jamie Baker; brother, Robert Baker and her special nephew, Jason “JC” Tucker.
A celebration of life for Jennifer will be held on Saturday, August 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion, 72 Pearl St, Hudson Falls, NY 12839.
