Jeffrey Lynn Forbes

Jeffrey Lynn Forbes, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday June 23, 2021, at Saratoga Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born on July 9, 1956, in Saratoga Springs, NY son of the late Robert Forbes and Betty (Nixon) Forbes Garris.  

Jeffrey graduated from SUNY Albany with his bachelor’s degree and started his own taxi/medical transportation business.  Jeffrey was the owner and operator of the T&C Taxi out of Cambridge, NY. He also worked several years in the electrical industry.

Jeffrey enjoyed his time on Saratoga Lake. He loved putting his dock in the water season after season to swim with his family and friends. He and his wife purchased a Bennington Pontoon boat in 2005 and named it after their girls “The Shnick”. In his younger years he enjoyed playing football, and powerlifting. He spent Monday nights in a golf league and was assistant coach to his daughter’s softball team. Jeff never missed an opportunity to watch his daughters ride horses, dance, play softball, and cheerlead. He loved to watch his grandson play basketball at the YMCA. He enjoyed long rides with an unknown destination on Sundays, followed by the occasional family dinner. He loved watching horse racing from the back stretch at the Saratoga Track.

Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife Karen Forbes.  Loving father of Shannon (Eric) Van Hall, and Nicole (Jose) Forbes.  Proud grandfather of Braden, Chloe, Madison, Amelia and Amaiyah.  Further survived by his father and mother-in-law Earl and Nancy Bean.  Sister in laws Linda Bean and Julie (Kevin) Brasser. Brother-in-law Timothy Bean as well as several nieces and nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his Mother Betty Forbes Garris, his Step Father Garnet Garris, his Father Robert Forbes and His brother Sergeant John D. Forbes.

A funeral service will be held at 6 pm on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.  Family and friends may call from 3:45 pm to 5:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
