Jeannette Knapp

Jeannette Knapp, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Home of The Good Shepherd, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 2, 1931, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, she was the cherished daughter of the late Frank Payeur and Arthemise Brisette Payeur.

Jeannette worked for many years as a Key Punch Operator for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in Albany, NY, before retiring. She had a deep appreciation for the excitement of horse racing and the casino, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her beloved family.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kimberly King (David); her sisters, Loretta Fish, Doris Daly, and Lucille Swartzlander; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will remember her fondly.

Jeannette was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Edward R. Knapp; son, Phillip Knapp; her brothers, Arthur and Leo; and her sisters, Theresa and Anita.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Compassionate Funeral Care.

Following the service, a graveside committal will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
