Jake M. DeLuca

Jake M. DeLuca, age 19, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

He was born on October 14, 2002, in Summit, NJ the son of Jay and Lee (Laricchiuta) DeLuca.

Jake graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 2021. Prior to moving to Saratoga Springs, NY, Jake grew up in Berkeley Heights, NJ where he had many friends and fond memories.

Jake joined the US Marine Corp in 2021 and earned the rank of PFC. He was currently stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He enjoyed the boot camp challenge and new friends that he met. He was proud of his accomplishments.

Jake loved sports and excelled in them in high school. He was on the varsity football team, #30, also known as the "Maniac." He was Co-Captain of the wrestling team and had a fantastic senior year record.

Jake was awarded the most outstanding player award in both football and wrestling his senior year.

Jake also played on the varsity soccer team his senior year, a team player, known for getting the team together on the sidelines to do pushups whenever they scored a goal. Jake was a sensitive and compassionate young man that will be missed by many. His smile was contagious.

Jake is survived by his parents, Jay and Lee; sister's, Alyssa and Vanessa DeLuca (her partner Jacob Sweetman); brother and best friend; Nicholas DeLuca; nephew, Isaiah Sweetman; Grammy, Marion Mongelli; God parents, Lorissa Morales and Harry Nicholsen; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, "Nanny" Lillian and Jerry Laricchiuta, Daniel DeLuca and Maurice Mongelli.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte. 9 and or Marion Ave), Saratoga Springs, New York.

A mass service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 9, 2022, at St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. 

Interment with military honors will be held at 12:00 pm at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
