Jack B. Rees, age 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Born on May 8, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jack was the son of the late Alfred Rees and Elizabeth Groutage.
Jack was a hardworking and dedicated businessman who proudly owned and operated Brushwood Marketing in Salt Lake City, Utah, for many years. Beyond his professional life, Jack was a man deeply rooted in his faith. In the late 1960s, he faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in the New England Mission. This experience remained close to his heart throughout his life. His love for his church and his unwavering devotion to his beliefs were evident to all who knew him.
Jack will be remembered for his warm personality, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. A natural jokester, he had a remarkable ability to make others laugh and feel at ease. He also had a true gift in the kitchen and was especially known for his delicious homemade pies and baked goods, which brought family and friends together around the table.
An avid New York Yankees fan, Jack rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his beloved team. He also found joy behind the lens of a camera, capturing life’s special moments and beautiful scenery through photography. Adventurous by nature, Jack embraced life fully and loved exploring new places and experiences.
Above all else, Jack’s greatest joy came from his family. He treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and extended family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come. His love, laughter, guidance, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Workman; his children, Jenee Wechsler (Jesse), Becky Rees, Brittney Rayl (Eric Carlson), Bryan Rees (Jessica), James Logan Rees (Chrystal), Kelly Rees (Ashley Jackson); his brothers, Thomas Rees (Ruby) and Steven Rees; his stepchildren, Jody Workman (Jodi), Crystal Karic (Frank), Tiffany Moore (Lawrence), and Timothy Workman.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Ethan Rayl, Lexa Rayl, Caleb Rayl, Lyla Rayl, Avery Wechsler, Sam Wechsler, Stella Rees, Paxton Webster, Briella Webster, Inga Rees, Jeremiah Marino, Cash Carlson, and Jaxson Peters; along with step-grandchildren, Madalyn Jenkins, Jillian Jenkins, Anniston Jenkins, Benjamin Jenkins, Stella Moore, Julian Moore, and Eliott Moore, as well as many dear friends who will miss him greatly.
In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Lindsey Webster, sister, Elizabeth, and his brothers, Bradley and Stewart.
