Ilse B. Van Dyke, age 85, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the Wesley Health Care Center.

She was born on July 11, 1936 in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Dosher) Brauer.

Ilse spent most of her life living and working in Schoharie County. She attended Middleburgh Central School, where her piano playing skills were put to good use accompanying the school choirs. She married Maurice Van Dyke and together they raised three daughters, Kristal Van Dyke, Tracey (Van Dyke) Delaney, and her daughter, Alison Van Dyke (MacWatters) who preceded her in death, before divorcing in 1980. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Brauer and two grandsons: Matthew MacWatters and Griffen MacWatters.

Ilse was an assistant to the president of SUNY Cobleskill for many years prior to retiring in 1998. She was an avid reader, a good cook, and enjoyed shopping and decorating her home. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, bridge and community playhouse while still raising a family.

At the family’s request a private service will be held.
