Howard S. Hurlburt

Howard Hurlburt passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on November 3, 2025.  Howard was born on August 28, 1957, in Great Falls, Montana at the Malstrom Air Force Base to Amelia Ontre Hurlburt and Howard Hurlburt, Sr.  Howard’s Mother passed away when he was just three years old.  He was brought up by his Maternal Grandmother, Mary Louise Como Ontre, who cherished him.  Howard is survived by his children who loved and cared for him, Shawn Hurlburt (Julie), Saratoga Springs, NY, Ian Hurlburt (Marissa) Ballston Spa, and Tamara Mullan, Troy, NY, and Grandchildren: Nevaeh Hurlburt, Russell Mullan, Amelia Mullan, Jaida Hurlburt, Justice Gallagher and Jordan Gardner.  He is also survived by his sister Mary Colby (Frank) and his loving lifelong companion, Beverly Dowen.

Howard attended St. Mary’s School and Ballston Spa High School.  He worked for many years in landscaping and masonry, retiring a short time ago.  Howard loved spending time in nature and was an avid fisherman his whole life.  His sons took him on a fishing charter just a few months ago, which meant the world to him. Howard lived his life exactly how HE wanted. He was a gentleman and a kind soul.  He is loved by many and will be deeply missed.

A celebration in his honor will be held at the Milton Community Center on Sunday, November 16th from 12pm – 3pm at 310 Northline Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
