Herman A. Wolf

Herman A. Wolf died July 1, 2026 at his home with his family by his side following a long illness.

Born March 3, 1945, in New Britain, Connecticut, Herman, “Bud” as he was called his entire life by both friends and colleagues, was the son of Herman and Irene Wolf.

Bud grew up in New Britain and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in business administration. He moved with his family to Saratoga Springs in 1974 and started Adicommco, Inc., a roadside billboard company. Bud built Adicommco from a small 12 board company to a powerhouse advertising firm with more than 500 billboards located from Amsterdam, New York to the Canadian border. He sold the company in 2000 to a national firm.

Not content to rest in retirement, Bud turned to real estate investment, buying and renovating properties in Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls. He purchased the former BB Fowler building in Glens Falls in 2004, redeveloping it into a full-service business and retail facility. The building housed the former Aimies Dinner and Movie as well as JMZ Architects and later Progressive Insurance.

Buds’ lifelong passions were golf, horse racing, UConn Basketball and the New York Yankees. He was a longtime member of both The Glens Falls Country Club and Saratoga Golf and Polo Club. He owned and campaigned many racehorses and spent countless afternoons at Saratoga Racecourse.

He was an avid reader and a fiercely conservative thinker. Incredibly astute in economics, Bud would enjoy debating his beliefs with anyone. Bud was also a lifetime beekeeper and always said more people need to keep bees because bees keep the earth turning.

Bud was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Irene. Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Metivier and husband Kerry, his longtime companion, Angela Green, her daughters, Colleen Noonan and Jeannette Green, their children, Madeline Noonan, Claire Noonan and Grayson Green.

At Buds’ request there will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be private.
