Helen D. Wilson (Strakos), 87, passed away on Christmas day 2020.
Born in Greenfield Center on Strakos Farm on August 2, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Veronica Strakos, the first-generation immigrants that built a loving and great family of Saratoga. She was a loving sister that cherished family above all else.
Mrs. Wilson, one of seven children, was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Helen was a kind and beautiful person that will be remembered for her smile and her bountiful meals. She was loved by all who knew her and cherished by family.
Helen is survived by her dearest sisters, Bertha Stone, Josie Hudson; sons, Gene Wilson (Nora), Wade Wilson (Connie), Mark Wilson (Brenda); grandchildren, Jessica Sinnott (Steve), Amanda Dia, Aliesha Narduzzo, Jodi Hoenig (Joe), Rick Cunningham (Machie), and Robert Wilson (Krista); four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her warm smile.
She is preceded in death by husband, James A. Wilson and her siblings, Joseph, Andrew, Veronica and Anna.
A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY with Reverend Carole Miller officiating. Family and friends may call from 2 pm to 4 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
