Helen Wait

Helen Wait, age 87, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Wesley Health Care.

Born on October 12, 1937, in Ft. Miller, NY, Helen was the daughter of the late Maxime and Rena Bouchard Periard. She was a loving homemaker, devoted wife to the late Lawrence Wait, and a cherished mother, sister, and grandmother.

Helen's life was filled with music, especially the sounds of northeastern country bands that lifted her spirit. She had a passion for crochet and cooking, crafting countless handmade creations and delicious meals for her loved ones. Helen's kind, warm presence left a lasting impact on those who knew her, and her gentle soul will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon LaVoy (Ron), Deborah Woodard (Frank), Rena Charboneau (Randy), Brandy Wait (Joseph) her beloved grandchildren Eddie Lee Wait, Keith Garmley, Randy Charboneau, Helen Charboneau, Rudy Wait, Robin Wait, Mae Gero, and Sadie Sutliff and Lazarus Wait; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence, sons Percy and Lawrence, son-in-law Willard, and her sisters Gloria Rogers, Edna VanArnum, Joan DeRush and Marguerite Tucker.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, located at 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9/Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Following the service, a graveside ceremony will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY 12871.

Afterward, refreshments will be served at Rena’s home, located at 27 Fairway Blvd., Gansevoort, NY 12831.
