George Weaver Obituary

Altamont - George Weaver, 68, of Altamont, NY, passed away on April 18, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to the late Victor and Dolores Weaver. George was a curious and impish boy who was always playing pranks and harmlessly teasing others. First at home, then school at Guilderland High School and even through his college years at SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Oneonta where he received his college degree. As George became an adult these playful tendencies stayed with him, he showed his love in many different ways but one way you knew that he truly cared for you is if he teased you.

George was one of the kindest souls on this planet, he was a gentle, generous and most of all a loving man.  His love for his family was a special kind of love, a love that became the foundation for his family and a love that will carry on although he has passed.

He was a father, a friend, a grandparent (known as G-Pa), a brother and an uncle who was survived by his daughter, Michele Goldberger and her husband Samuel; sisters, Carol (husband Robert), Mary and Patricia; his best friend, Kim Edick and her children Nicole and Collin; grandchildren who were most important to him, Elaina 9, Adele 8, Jaxon 7, Nolan 4, Gianni 3 and baby Anthony; his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who knew him as Uncle Buck.

George loved gardening and worked as a landscaper for many years before he became a department head in the Lawn and Garden department at Home Depot. He would go on from there to become an Assistant Store Manager and then moved to Lowes where he ended his career and started retirement in 2021.

Along with gardening he enjoyed nature photography, watching sports; rooting for the Phillies and Dolphins, golfing, and most of all spending time with friends, co-workers and especially his loved ones.  George touched the lives of many throughout the years and will truly be missed but his love and support will carry on and his memories will remain in our hearts forever.

At George’s request there will be no calling hours or services to be held.
