George A. Richards III

George A. Richards III, 68, passed away on January 5th 2025. He was born on January 21st, 1956 in Cambridge, NY, the son of the late George A. Richards Jr. and Priscilla M. Dunbar Richards, and is survived by his step-mother Vivian G. Woodard Richards. 

He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Inga Jenkins Richards and he was the proud father of Ericka Richards and Philip Richards, and his wife Colleen Tillson.

George was a dear friend and colleague to many. He spent his working years as a heavy equipment mechanic for the Town of Greenfield, and in retirement he continued to spend his days in garages visiting old friends, delivering parts, and restoring vintage cars and tractors. George was a fantastic story-teller, he would always have you laughing, and loved sharing those stories over coffee and pie.

He is survived by his sister Colleen Richards Dillon (Raymond Michael Dillon), Sister-In-Law Deborah Basmajian Richards, and Cousin Cecil V. Dunbar. He is pre-deceased by his brothers Raymond D. Richards Sr. and Charles A. Richards Sr.

A private funeral will be held at the discretion of the family.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Porter Corners Fire Department or the Estherville Animal Shelter in Greenfield Center, NY would be appreciated.
