George Ramsey

George Ramsey, aged 75, of Greenfield, peacefully passed away on February 9, 2024, surrounded by his devoted family at his residence. He was born on January 3, 1949, in Saratoga Springs, NY, to George Ramsey and Rose (Palmateer) Ramsey.

In earlier years, George worked at Saratoga Flour as a Truck Driver, then later on worked at Saratoga County EOC Weatherization installing furnaces. When not working, he enjoyed gardening, tinkering on cars, hunting, fishing and never passed a free garage sale! “If it’s free, it’s for me”!

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, George Ramsey III (Beverly) and Wayne Artmann (Tom), daughters Amanda and Georgette Ramsey, brothers Timothy Ramsey (Kelley), Sheridan Ramsey, and Billy Zehr, sisters Joyce Ramsey (Bill Teeling), Joanne Murdie, Jeanne Cioffi (Joe), Annie Teeling, Tina Peeler (Bill), Donna Daniels (Dan), and Junie Woodbeck (Gloria), along with grandchildren Brandon Bell (Candace), Chelsea Clothier (Jermiah), Rachel Ramsey, and George H. Ramsey (Larissa); great grandson Syrus Bell and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Patty Fitzgerald, Doris Murdie, brother David Ramsey, and grandsons Jason Waite and Corey Ramsey.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and offer condolences from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave, Saratoga Springs, New York.  A celebration of life to follow. 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Maplewood Cemetery, corner of Louden and Weible Road, Saratoga Springs.
