George H. Palmateer

George H. Palmateer, Jr., age 53, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Saratoga Hospital with loved ones at his side.

He was born on January 5, 1970, in Saratoga Springs, NY the son of the late George H. Palmateer Sr and Sandra Palmateer.

He was a master mechanic and loved restoring old cars and trucks. He was especially proud to have a son who shared his love for cars. Together, they restored an old classic for his son to drive. He loved nothing more than hitting the car shows, or taking drives with his son, friends and family. Besides his love for cars he loved to sing, laugh and make everyone around him do the same. Above all else, he loved his son and wife and made sure he told them every chance he could. A father couldn’t be more proud of a Son than he was.

George is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Darlene Palmateer; son, Alan Palmateer; brothers, George John Rowland (Willa), Harold Thomas, Dale Palmateer, Andrew Palmateer, and Michael Palmateer (Bobbie Jo); sisters; Sandra Bushey (Michael) and Dorothy Preece (William); father-in-law, Gerald Dingmon (Darlene); mother-in-law Janet Parker (Jim); brother-in-law, Adam Dingmon (Danielle); sister-in-law, Tracey Dingmon; 
many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York. Family and friends may call from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
