George W. McInnis, Jr.

George W. McInnis Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Mountain Valley Hospice Care.

Born on February 11, 1942, in Medford, MA, he was the son of the late George W. McInnis and Helen Small McInnis. George grew up in Charlestown, MA, and cherished summers spent at the beach in Winthrop, MA. A graduate of Boston Latin High School, class of 1960, he continued his education at Boston State College, earning his degree in 1965.

George began his professional journey as a high school math teacher before transitioning to a career in computer programming within the telecommunications industry. Later, he became a manager at Fidelity Investments in Boston, MA, where he worked for many years before retiring.

A sailing enthusiast, George loved competing in regattas on the Charles River in Boston. In 2016, he and his wife, Janice, relocated from Stow, MA, to the Capital Region to be closer to their beloved grandchildren.

George’s legacy lives on through his devoted wife, Janice Gallagher McInnis; his son, Darren McInnis of Peterborough, NH; his daughter, Meghan McInnis Cornely of Saratoga Springs, NY; and his cherished grandchildren, Cody and Maeve McInnis of Peterborough, NH, and Lucas, Jude, and Gwen Cornely of Saratoga Springs, NY. He will also be deeply missed by many friends and loved ones.
