Frederick Edward Emery, Jr.

Frederick Edward Emery, Jr., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at his home in Greenfield Center with his family at his side. 

He was born on September 11, 1937 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica, NY.  He is the son of the late Frederick Edward Emery, Sr., and Margaret Smith Emery. 

Frederick was a graduate of Oriskany High School, class of 1957.  Soon after graduating he entered the US Army during the Korean War proudly serving his country. 

He established Fred’s Auto Body in 1974.  He strongly believed that it was important to give back to the community and country in which one lived. He recognized that serving others enriched the giver’s soul.  Frederick was a longtime member of the St. Joseph’s church in Greenfield and a proud member of the choir, a former president and longtime member of the Greenfield Lion’s Club and a former member of Bill Brooking Racing Team.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Anna Doreen LaMothe Emery; children, Rebecca Ward of Eugene, Oregon, Darryl Emery (Angie) of Eugene Oregon, Jeff Karpinski (Natalia) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Michelle Emery-Pugsley of Millbrook, New York, Patricia Dille of Westmoreland, New Hampshire, Frederick Emery (Chrystal) of Greenfield Center, New York, Stephen Emery of Wilton, New York; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Monica, Margaret, Sister Elizabeth, Robert and many friends who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Emery and son-in-law, Stephen Dille.

A mass service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, July 30, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 3159 NY-9N, Greenfield Center, NY 12833.  Family and friend are welcome for further fellowship in the church hall following the service.
