Frank I. Covell

Frank I. Covell, Jr. (Oogie), age 76, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, Memorial Day with his loving wife of 56 years by his side.

He was born at Saratoga Hospital on August 22, 1945, in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of the late Frank I. Covell, Sr. and Lydia (Bull) Covell.

He was a machine operator at the General Electric located in Ft. Edward, NY for many years.

Frank was proud to serve his country in the U. S. Navy Seabees and as a Vietnam Veteran.

He loved his fur babies and his grandchildren, but Frank had a passion for cooking, gardening, and going to the Saratoga Races in the summer.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Sally Anne Covell; son, Sean Covell and his wife Debra of New Hampshire; grandsons, Ian and Declan; brother, Clarence Covell and wife Sharee of Greenfield Center, NY; sisters, Geri Geruso and her partner Greg of Greenfield Center, NY, Virginia McCormick and her husband Bill of Saratoga Springs, NY, Susan Kilburn of Porter Corners, NY and Lou Ann Green and her husband Steven of Saratoga Springs, NY; many nephews, nieces and friends.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Jean Laura Whitten and brother, Walter Covell.

Interment with military honors will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871. 

Family and friends are invited to meet at 1:30 pm at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Route 9., Marion Ave.) Saratoga Springs, NY to proceed to the National Cemetery.
