Francis "Art" Duckett Obituary
GANSEVOORT – Francis “Art” Duckett, age 89, passed away peacefully
on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in the comfort of his home in Gansevoort, New
York, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on April 15, 1936, in Glens Falls, New York, Francis was the son of
the late Walter T. Duckett and Ella Sullivan Duckett. He grew up in the
Glens Falls area and carried with him a strong work ethic and a lifelong
appreciation for simple pleasures.
Art dedicated many years of hard work as a metal recycling parts remover
at Jenkins Auto Parts, where he became well known for his knowledge of
vehicles and his willingness to lend a helping hand. His work was more
than just a job—it reflected his lifelong fascination with automobiles. Art had
a true passion for cars, especially race cars, and anything related to the
world of autos. Whether it was talking about engines, watching races, or
simply admiring a well-built machine, cars were always close to his heart.
Above all, Art cherished his family. He shared a loving marriage of 68 years
with his devoted wife, Alsina Duckett, whose companionship and support
were the foundation of his life. Together they built a family filled with love,
laughter, and lasting memories.
Art is lovingly remembered by his wife, Alsina Duckett; his daughters, Tina
Coons (Kenneth), Michelle Winch (Robert), and Nadine Jones (Richard),
daughter in law Nancy Duckett and his sister, Marijane Melton. He also
leaves behind many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, and friends who will remember his kind spirit and fiesty nature.
In addition to his parents, Art was predeceased by his beloved son, Forest
Mark Duckett, his sister Jeraldine South, brothers James Duckett, Walter
Duckett and Edward Duckett
In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or
services at this time.
