Francis R. LaBrake

Francis R. LaBrake, aged 82, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at his residence in Wilton. He was born on February 9, 1941, in Massena, NY, as the son of the late Robert LaBrake and Irene Besaw LaBrake.

For many years, Francis served as a dedicated salesman for KC Canary in the Clifton Park area before retiring, and thereafter drove for the Glens Falls Transit Authority for several years.  What many will remember Francis for was his gregarious personality.  He loved meeting people and had an ability to draw even the most introverted folks into conversation.  With the talent of ribbing people with a smile, he invited them into his world.  At 5:00, he could usually be found with a Martini in hand, jazz on the stereo, and his beloved cat Becks in his lap.

Francis is survived by his son, Brian LaBrake (Katharine Hanley); daughter, Jo Anne Towne (Jack); and cherished grandchildren, Dolan Towne, Liam Towne, Clara LaBrake, and Jorge LaBrake. He leaves behind a host of dear friends who will deeply miss him.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Palmer LaBrake.
