Frances Calhoun

Frances Calhoun, age 73, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 27, 1949, in Albany, NY the daughter of the late Howard and Charlotte (Oliver) Batcher.

Frances was the type of person that once you stepped into her life you became a friend for life. Fran had such an amazing love that she would share with anyone, know matter who you were. She was very caring, compassionate and welcoming. She was the type of person that always welcomed you in her home where she and her late husband would have company all the time. Fran and Jim had much love for one another. No matter where you went you could see the love in their eyes. For many years she would babysit many children in her home and watch them grow up. No matter what you were always family in their home. Frances will be missed greatly by all that knew her and the lives she touched. Frances enjoyed gambling, casinos, cruises, the beaches of Maine and coffee, but she loved spending time with her family and friends. But most of all she loved spending time doing many things with the love of her life.

Frances is survived by her son, James Calhoun Jr., Cheryl Whalen, Kimberly Frederico and Melissa Calhoun; sister, Patricia Sitcer; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.   

She is preceded in death by her late husband, James Calhoun Sr. Frances is also preceded in death by her seven brothers, Earl, Elvin, Raymond, Marvin, Gerald, Charles, Glenn and her sister, Shirley Batcher.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 150 West Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 with Father Martin Fisher conducting the service.
