Eric Scott Wood, 43, passed away unexpectantly in his sleep on January 3, 2024. Eric is the son of Karen Wood of Saratoga and the late Edward Wood.
Eric was born in Albany, where he lived until his family moved to Saratoga when he was 10. There he graduated from Saratoga High School and B.O.C.E.S. Culinary Arts in 1998. He went on to work for J2 (Jonathan Chang) for many years until he recently started his own business “Wood’s Painting and Drywall”, which he ran until the time of his passing.
Eric spent his free time doing what he loved most, being with his children and his best friend, Rocky, his cat. Nothing pleased him more than being at gatherings with his family and friends, of which he had many. Anyone that knew him knew he would always be there and do anything for them. “A friend in need, is a friend indeed” truly described him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Eric is survived by his mother, Karen Wood, his children, Emma Wood, Miranda Anderson, Timothy Martin and “Ana” (Anastasia) Wilcox, his brothers, Tommy Greenlaw, Michael (Kelly) Greenlaw, his sister, Kim Greenlaw and his best friend and the mother of his children, Shawna Anderson. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Eric was predeceased by his father, Edward Wood and his maternal grandparents, Francis and Annetta McElroy.
There will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
