Elizabeth "Betty" Perkins, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Wesley Health Care Center, surrounded by her family. Born on June 22, 1940, in Saratoga Springs, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ausburn Deuel and Luella Meyers Deuel.
Betty was a devoted homemaker who cherished people and family. She had a passion for baking and cooking, infusing love into every dish she prepared for her visitors. Betty enjoyed shopping and found relaxation in her hammock, savoring the breeze and the sounds of nature. She cherished her flowers and plants, both indoors and outdoors, finding peace in their beauty. She also had a profound love for the ocean, where she shared many cherished moments with her family.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband, Sidney Perkins; her sons, Timothy Powell (Cynthia), Jack Trainor, Jeffrey Trainor (Margaret), and Ausburn Trainor (Donna); her daughters, Tammie Covington (Nemiah) and Susan Wells (Daniel); and her brother, Kenneth Deuel. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jamie Grimaldo (Christopher), Brendan Trainor, Elizabeth Flynn, Amelia Peterson (Karl), Austin Trainor, Logan Trainor, Lily-Anne Trainor, Aijalon Covington, Azariah Covington, Chelan Vanno (Phil), Courtney Harris, Somer Trainor, Sean Trainor and April Trainor as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Evan Trainor, her brother, Bill Deuel, and her sister, Ernestine Cooley.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Compassionate Funeral Care, located at 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. A funeral service will commence at 12:00 noon, immediately following the visitation.
After the service, a graveside ceremony will be held at Greenridge Cemetery, 17 Green Ridge Pl, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
