Elizabeth "Betty" Harrington

Elizabeth “Betty” Harrington, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on November 4, 1938 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the daughter of the late Edward Morgan and Margaret Taney Morgan.  Elizabeth was a graduate of South Glens Falls High School, class of 1956. 

Elizabeth was a Postmaster for the United States Postal Service in the town of Wilton for many years.  She was also a long-time member of the Wilton Historical Society; she was also the assistant town historian for many years.  Elizabeth lived her life with a passion for love and acceptance of all people.  She loved crocheting, puzzles, bowling, and baking.  She had several collections such as stamps, coins, and beany babies.  Elizabeth’s passion and joy was her love for family, in which she embraced every moment spent with them.  Her gift of kindness, honesty, and strength was the role model we will always remember her by.     

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Charles Harrington, Jr.; daughter, Tracey Moran (Jeff); sons, Edward Harrington (Linda), Scott Harrington (Laurie); brother, William Morgan; grandchildren, Melissa Strong (Jake), Darren Moran (Nicole), Anthony Harrington (Christina), Joshua Harrington, Emma Harrington, Bill Loya, Joyce Bartholomew, Ava Alden; great-grandchildren, Lucas Strong, Devin Strong, Lexi Moran, Kaitlyn Burdick, Holly Wadsworth, Mariah Blake, Ryan and Colin Bartholomew, Ethan and Brayden Loya.  She is also survived by her dearest friend, Jeannine Woutersz and many friends who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harrington, Sr.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Gurn Springs Cemetery, Ballard Road, Wilton, NY.
