Edward J. Frail, age 85, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 in the comfort of his home in Saratoga Springs.
Ed was born on March 21, 1941 in Bronx, NY the son of the late James Frail and Helen Sullivan Frail.
He grew up with his cousins in Bronx, NY playing stickball and attending Yankee games. After high school, Ed attended Marist College and received his undergraduate degree in 1967 with a B.A. in History. Ed went on to teach American history at Schuylerville High School for over 30 years.
Ed is described by his friends and family as selfless, loyal, honest, straightforward, and adventurous. He learned to ski in his 50s, ride a motorcycle in his 60s, and Zumba in his 70s. Ed loved fishing, especially with his grandsons. He is also a published author of two books, “Cult” a novel of modern terror and “The First Gospel” the life and times of Jesus Christ.
Ed is survived by his wife, Carol Frail, his daughter Deborah Collins, and her son Ryan, his daughter Diane Padalino and her sons Nicholas and Alex.
He is predeceased by his beloved grandson Michael Collins, his sister, Virginia Pagano and his brother, James Frail.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave, Saratoga Springs, New York followed by a graveside service at Notre Dame de Lourdes Cemetery, Burgoyne Road. Schuylerville, NY 12871.
