Edith M. Fitzgerald, 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Wilton, NY, on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on April 20, 1941, in Saratoga Springs, NY, she was the daughter of the late Earl Duell and Anita Travis Duell.
Edith worked as a housekeeper for the Holiday Inn for many years, where her warm and friendly nature made her a beloved part of the team. She had a passion for visiting local casinos, enjoying the thrill and camaraderie they brought. Edith also treasured her walks with her husband, Gregory, taking in the fresh air and time together. She delighted in garage sales, relishing the opportunity to find hidden treasures and connect with others. A devoted fan of soap operas, she rarely missed an episode, but her most cherished memory was a cruise to the Bahamas with her husband Gregory, an adventure she held close to her heart.
Edith is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Gregory Fitzgerald, with whom she shared a life full of joy and laughter; her son, Keith Duell; stepsons, Christopher Fitzgerald and Gregory Fitzgerald Jr.; stepdaughter, Stacey Fitzgerald; brother, Earl Duell (Shirley); sister, Elizabeth Pisano; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will deeply miss her vibrant spirit.
