Dustin R. Barnes, Sr.

Dustin R. Barnes, Sr., age 78 passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Saratoga Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born on April 25, 1944 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of Raymond Barnes and Dorothy Howe Barnes.

Dustin was a machinist for General Electric in Schenectady for many years prior to retiring.  He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing.  Dustin was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the US Chess Federation.  Dustin’s greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends. 

Dustin is survived by his son, Dustin R. Barns, Jr.; daughters, Vicci Burt (Reed) and Kelly Barnes (James Roat); sister, Shirley Laskey (Ed); many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Allen Barnes; brother, Daniel Barnes and his sister, Marie Willard.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.  Family and friends may call from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm prior to the service. 

A graveside service will be held at Middlegrove Cemetery in the spring.
