Dorothea S. Meldrum

On December 22, 2023 Dorothea Meldrum passed away at the age of 86. Dorothea had many accomplishments in her life including raising 6 children, a long career in special education, and many adventures. However if you asked her what she enjoyed most in her life she would tell you about all the wonderful miles of trails throughout the northeast that she enjoyed flying along on some fabulous horses.  And most of all she would tell you about the amazing and wonderful people she met along the way.  

She asked that there not be any formal memorial but instead that everyone go out and do something that makes them smile.  Her motto the last few years was ‘have fun fast’.  Whether or not you knew Dorothea or our family - please take a moment for yourself - enjoy a sunrise or sunset, hug your horse, take a ride, hike with your dog, laugh with friends  or just take a breath and enjoy the view.
