Doris Irene Clute

Doris Irene Clute, 98, born in the Town of Charlton, NY on March 23, 1925, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Glens Falls Center in Glens Falls, NY.  She was a lifelong area resident, graduate of the Scotia-Glenville High School and the daughter of the late Alphonse and Hazel Beyer LaVallee. 

Doris married John F. Clute on June 9, 1946, in Clifton Park, NY.  She had been employed at General Electric Locomotive in Schenectady, NY and later, for more than twenty years, at General Foods Corp. in Saratoga Springs, NY, retiring in 1985. In her free time, Doris enjoyed oil painting, puzzles, music/singing, traveling and family gatherings. 

Doris is survived by her sister, Yvonne (Herb) Cater; two sons, Adrian A. Clute and Charles W. (Jo Ann) Clute; grandchildren, Shalyn C. (Kenneth) Campellone, Bryan J. (Rikki) Clute, Ashleigh C. Clute, Taylor W. Clute, Stephanie M. (Jeremy) Watkins, Gabriella S. Clute and Kaitlyn E. Clute; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jackson Clute, Kara and Serena Campellone, William, Noah and Elisha Watkins.

She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Clute (2011); her sister, Rose Marie DeGraff  (2015); and her son, Aaron B. Clute (1996).

A memorial service will be held at the St.Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 at 10:00 AM, November 11, 2023.  The Rite of Christian Burial will take place May 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Sweetman Cemetery, Sweetman Road, Charlton, NY 12019.
