Donald R. Woodcock, aged 82, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, in the comfort of his Greenfield Center home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 9, 1941, in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of the late Clair Dorr Woodcock and Florence Ronan Woodcock. Donald was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, class of 1960, and he furthered his education at Albany Business School.
Donald devoted several years to his career as a salesman at Clair's Hardware in Saratoga Springs, a tenure that lasted until 1976. Subsequently, he embarked on a journey with Ziebart of Albany before ultimately retiring from Versatile Storage. Additionally, he actively participated in various community organizations, including the Rotary Club, Cossayuna Fire Department, and the Wilton Rod & Gun Club.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Diana Pagach Woodcock, with whom he shared many wonderful years. He leaves behind his children, Michael Woodcock (Lisa), Marianne Cummins (Gary), Melissa Brownell (Robin Dewey); stepchildren, Keith Lawrence (Ann) and Carla Alvord (Michael); sister, Diana Armstrong (John). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Morgan Woodcock, McKenzie Woodcock, Nicole Brownell, Shaun Brownell, Ashley Rickett, Christian Alvord, Victoria Alvord; nieces, nephews and numerous dear friends who will always miss his gentle spirit.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Richard Woodcock.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, located at 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Saratoga Wilton Elks Lodge, 1 Elks Lane, Saratoga Springs, NY following the calling hours.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Compassionate Funeral Care, followed by a graveside service at Greenridge Cemetery, 17 Green Ridge Pl, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donald can be made to the Cossayuna Volunteer Fire Department at 21 Bunker Hill Rd, Cossayuna, NY 12823 or Tunnel to Towers Foundation at 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
