Donald F. Sutherland

Donald F. Sutherland, Sr., age 69, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Saratoga Hospital.

He was born on June 20, 1952, in Schenectady, NY, the son of the late Graham and Suzette (Rivera) Sutherland.

Donnie worked for General Electric as a Machine Operator.  He enjoyed going to car shows with his sons and going on drives. He loved classic cars and watching restoration car shows, and we cannot forget his love for sweets. One of his favorite things though was spending time with his children, his crazy funny farm as he would call it and we will never forget the great times we had with our father. His laugh and smile will forever live on with his children and loved ones.

Donnie is survived by his children, Jennifer, Heather, Helen, Megan, Donald, Jr. and Justin; brothers, Paul (Joan), Jimmy (Katha), Skip (Marilyn), John and Patrick; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and very close friend Rick Welden.

He is predeceased in death by his infant daughter, Stacey Kathleen Sutherland; sister, Suzette Gentile and many close friends.

At the family’s request there will be no calling hours.

A graveside service in honor of Donnie will be held on June 20, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205.  The time will be announced at a later date.
