Diane Martin Greader Obituary

Diane Mary Martin Greader, born in 1948 in Hollis, Queens, New York, passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, strength, and deep love for those closest to her.

Diane was the beloved daughter of the late George and Margaret Martin. She spent the early years of her life as an only child before welcoming five siblings into her world—Michael, Patti, Jerry, Dennis, and Karen—forming a close-knit family. In 1963, the family moved to Williston Park, New York, where Diane grew up and later graduated from Herricks High School in New Hyde Park.

She continued her education at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Diane began her professional career working for Con Edison in New York City and later served as a teller at Franklin National Bank in Roosevelt Field on Long Island.

In 1969, Diane married the love of her life, Jimmy Greader, in Jericho, New York. Together, they built a beautiful life over 57 years of marriage, grounded in love, partnership, and unwavering commitment. The couple began their life together in the Bronx, where they lived in a fifth-floor walk-up apartment—a place that marked the beginning of their lifelong journey side by side.

On October 26, 1970, Diane and Jimmy welcomed their only child, Margaret, who became the center of their world. The family later moved to Coxsackie, New York, where they raised their daughter and created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Diane’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Angelina, Sophia, and Dante, who brought endless happiness to her life. She treasured every moment spent with them and delighted in their visits, always eager to spoil them with love and attention. Her family was her heart, and her love for them was evident in all she did.

She is predeceased by her parents, George Martin (1994) and Margaret Martin (2005), as well as her brothers, Michael Martin (1971) and Dennis Martin (1984).

Diane is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmy Greader; her loving daughter, Margaret DePaulo, and her husband, Dave DePaulo; and her cherished grandchildren, Angelina, Sophia, and Dante. She is also survived by her siblings, Patti Champagne and her husband Richard of Tampa, Florida; Karen Zitch of Zephyrhills, Florida; and Jerry Martin of Far Rockaway, New York, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
