David Wemmitt Obituary

David S. Wemmitt , age 68, of Ballston Spa, NY, passed away on January 2, 2026, surrounded by his daughters. Dave is leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and a life well lived.

Born on May 26, 1957 in Glens Falls, NY, Dave was a man who made family—not friends—everywhere he went. His heart was always with those closest to him, and he showed his love through his presence, his actions, and his fun loving attitude.

A lifelong auto mechanic, Dave spent his career doing what he loved—working with his hands, solving problems, and helping others keep moving forward. His strong work ethic and mechanical skill were matched only by his pride in a job done right.  He finished his mechanical career of over 50 years, at Rowland Street Garage where his customers and coworkers were also more family than friends.

Dave lovingly known to his friends as “Just Dave” found true freedom on the open road. He had a deep love for his motorcycle “ Black Beauty” and his brotherhood in the Goat Brothers Motorcycle Club, where camaraderie and loyalty meant everything to him. When he wasn’t riding, he could often be found in Mulleyville enjoying camp —hunting, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and embracing peace, friendship, and adventure.

Above all else, Dave was a devoted father to his 3 daughters. Dave taught by example—strength, honesty, hard work, and the importance of family. His guidance, love, and steady presence will be carried forward by those he leaves behind.

Dave was preceded in death by his girlfriend of 22 years Annette ( Vicky) Farrar, his youngest daughter Amanda Wemmitt, and his father Robert Wemmitt.

Left to Cherish his memory, are his 2 daughters June (Christopher) Columbe, Amy (Wayne “Chip”) Green, 2 stepson’s Ryan Coffin and Jared Farrar; his 10 grandchildren Alex (Elisa), Kaylee (Cody), Jake (Juliana), Troy, Katie (Isaac), Logan, Meghan, Maykayla, Zachary, and Amelia; 5 great grandchildren Ella, Allison, Cooper, Colson, and the youngest Harper who was born 25 minutes after his passing; his mother Jackie Ladd; his 3 sisters Christine (Bill) Younes, Connie (Bob) Ackley, and Jackie (Kevin) Varney; all of his brother and sisters of the Goat Brothers MC; as well as several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
