On Wednesday, December 9th, 2020, David Spencer, loving husband, father of two daughters and grandfather of five grandchildren, passed away at the age of 78 just ten days prior to his 79th Birthday.  He was a favorite resident at the Home of the Good Shepherd and will be greatly missed.

Dave was born on December 19, 1941 in Binghamton, NY to Leo and Edna Spencer. He worked as a building engineer for various telephone companies throughout NYS for his whole career. On September 5th, 1964, he married Susan Kent Spencer. They raised two daughters, Caroline (Carrie) Mason and Candice (Candee) Bergmann.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather, Dave had a passion for the Lord. He loved running, never missing one of his daughters' cross-country races and ran the Boston Marathon several times. Later in life he got into cycling and rode many century rides, usually raising money for the Diabetes Association. He also helped to raise money by participating in many Arthritis Walks.

Dave was soft spoken but also quick to share a smile or help whenever possible. He was known for his kind and compassionate spirit. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he showed to everyone he met.

Dave joins his father, Leo and his mother, Edna in Heaven. He is survived by his wife Sue, his two children, Caroline and Candice, his two sons-in-law Chuck Mason and Scott Bergmann, his sister Donna, his brothers; Gary, Kevin, Dennis and Dion, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Mary Kent, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Fred and Bet Jayne, numerous nieces and nephews, and his five grandchildren, Joshua, Adam, Mia, Madison and Jeremiah.
