David B. Cooper, Sr., age 66, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 24, 2020 with his wife Cindy by his side and surrounded by his loving children whom all live locally. David now lays to rest after over a decade battle with Parkinson, Dementia with Lewy body.
David graduated from Ballston Spa High School, class of 1972. He worked nearly 30 years as a heavy equipment mechanic for NYS Department of Transportation, retiring in 2012 from Hudson Falls, NY.
David enjoyed traveling to Maine every summer. His most precious moments over his lifetime were spent on family property in Blenheim, NY where many cherished memories were made. His love for all of nature; hunting, camping, snowmobiling, hours on his tractor mowing fields of dreams for his family to enjoy. His idea of fun was spending time in the woods with his 4-wheeler and chainsaw; weekends sitting by campfires and s’mores, carrying out all his simplest passions to his children and grandchildren.
When not traveling with his wife, Cindy, he would spend hours in his garage fixing everyone’s cars while playing his favorite role as the family mechanic. His most prized possessions was his Craftsman tools bought by ENDLESS Sears gift cards, Prime Rib dinners and without even knowing it he taught us all to be hardworking and selfless. His true joy was when he was able to spend time with his grandchildren. A true hero, a strong soul and a heart of gold.
David is survived by his wife Cindy of 36 years, married October 3, 1987; they together raised 6 children Greg (Becky), Kym (Derek), David (Anna), Darcy (Jerry), Daniel (Erica) and Jessica (Brendan).
David adored his eight grandchildren Justin, Kiana, Matthew, Cadence, Jaden, Grayson, Issak and Alexis; two nieces, Melodie and Stephanie; nephews, Shawn and Jimmy; brother, Bob and sister, Sharon.
He joins his parents Daniel and Doris Cooper, his two grand-babies and beloved sister-in-law
