Dale Erhardt

Dale Wayne Erhardt, a lifelong resident of Lake George, New York, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who cared for him. Born on April 1, 1950, Dale lived a life marked by service, community involvement, and a genuine appreciation for the people and history of his hometown.

Dale was the beloved son of the late Edgar and Bertha (Adams) Erhardt and was also predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Beatrice Adams, as well as his brothers, Brian Erhardt and Roger Erhardt.

He is lovingly survived by his brother, Bruce Erhardt and his wife, Jayne, of Lake George, along with his cousins, Maureen Walstra and Katie (Craig) of San Jose, California, and many friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and generous spirit.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dale's devoted caregivers, Jairus Kirpatrick and Jacinda Welsh, whose compassion, dedication, and exceptional care made it possible for Dale to remain in the comfort of his home and fulfill his wish of passing peacefully surrounded by familiar surroundings and love.

Throughout his life, Dale wore many hats. He built a successful career as a salesman, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike through his knowledge, professionalism, and friendly personality.

Music was one of Dale's early passions, and he enjoyed playing guitar in a local band during his younger years. A graduate of Lake George High School, he remained deeply connected to his community throughout his life. Dale proudly served as an EMT with the Lake George Ambulance Service, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His generous heart was evident each Thanksgiving as he donated and prepared turkeys for the community meal at the local Catholic church in Lake George, helping ensure others could enjoy the holiday.

Dale also devoted countless hours to preserving and enriching his community. He volunteered at the local library, faithfully served as a board member and caretaker of Evergreen Cemetery, and developed a lifelong passion for the history of the French and Indian War. His love of local history led him to become an active member of the Lake George War Society and a knowledgeable tour guide at Fort William Henry, where he enjoyed sharing the area's rich heritage with visitors from near and far.

A celebration of Dale's life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In accordance with Dale's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Lake George at a later date.
