Colleen Ann Kirchhoff

Colleen Ann Kirchhoff (Nana) 72 of Saratoga Springs, NY, was called home to be with our Lord on Thursday, December 9th, 2021, at Saratoga Hospital.

She was born on August 24, 1949, in Bayshore, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond and Eileen Kirchhoff.

Affected with Polio throughout her life, she refused to let the physical ailments define her.  She overcame its disabling effects with a strong will and determination not to be labeled "handicap". She was the little General at 4'11, as her father had called her.  She was the strongest person ever to know. If you said she couldn't do it, she proved she could.

Colleen graduated from Smithtown High School, class of 1967.  Colleen continued her education to become a nurse.  She was a devoted mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a counselor, a teacher, and a friend to so many. She loved painting, writing, hunting at the family camp, good coffee, the ocean, seafood, and spending time with her family.

Colleen is survived by her two sons Joseph Murawski (Kate), Alex Murawski (Marie), their father Alan Murawski, her brothers Raymond Kirchhoff (Carole). Kevin Kirchhoff (Eileen), Thomas Kirchhoff (Roseanne, grandchildren Ethan & Julia, along with many nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY.  Family and friends may call from 1 pm to 4 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at a later date in Queen of All Saints Cemetery, 115 Wheeler Rd, Central Islip, NY 11722.

Due to the ongoing public health concerns of COVID-19 social distancing as well as wearing of a face mask is required.
