Claudia Foster, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Born on August 30, 1952, in Troy, New York, Claudia was the cherished daughter of the late Eugene and Gloria (Thivierge) Boivin. She grew up with a curious mind and a creative spirit that stayed with her throughout her life.
Claudia was known for her vivid imagination and her appreciation for the wonderfully unusual things in life. She had a deep love for science fiction, especially Star Trek, and delighted in exploring imaginative worlds and the mysteries of the universe. A true dreamer at heart, she found joy in reading, pondering life’s oddities, and embracing the unique perspectives that made each day interesting. Claudia believed in celebrating individuality and living authentically.
Above all else, Claudia treasured her family. Time spent with her children and grandchildren brought her the greatest happiness, and she will be remembered for the warmth, laughter, and love she shared with those closest to her.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Rebecca Damour (James); her son, Jason Foster; her brothers, Martin Boivin and Kevin Boivin (Kathy); her sisters, Carol Gillis, Carla Swederski (Jeff) and Cherie Grooznack (George); and her beloved grandchildren, William Damour and Olivia Damour. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will fondly remember her spirited personality and kind heart.
In keeping with Claudia’s wishes, there will be no formal services.
Claudia would have wanted those who remember her to celebrate life in their own unique way. In her honor, go do something wacky—wear a strange hat, elf ears, or a Hawaiian shirt. Be bold in being yourself, embrace what you love, and never be afraid to celebrate who you are.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests making a donation to your local food bank in Claudia’s memory.
