Charlotte R Beers, a centenarian and resident of Wilton, peacefully passed away at the age of 104, on Friday, March 31, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on June 11, 1918 in Bloomfield, NJ, the daughter of the late Albert M Robinson and Elsie Olga Pinnow.
Charlotte graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1937. She then attended Mountainside Hospital School Of Nursing where she completed the required courses to become a Registered Nurse. Charlotte began working at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains N.J. and became the Head Registered Nurse on the Medical Surgical Floor. She continued to work there until her retirement.
Charlotte witnessed many historical events including the Spanish Flu, the Great Depression and World War II. She also saw the transformation in American life brought about by cars, airplanes, radio, TVs, computers, social media, and modern medicine.
Charlotte loved being a nurse and she was committed to her patients. She loved caring for others as well as her family. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was an avid animal lover and especially loved Dachshund dogs.
Charlotte is survived by her son and daughter in law, Kenneth and Pamela Beers, her grandchildren, Jessica (Beers) Renzi (Christopher Renzi), Kirsten (Beers) Deitz (Daniel Deitz), her great grandchildren, Cadence Renzi, Logan and Gavin Deitz, her niece, Cindy Robinson-Karst (Kendrew Colton), and her nephews Paul W Robinson and Teddy Tappan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Beers, and brothers, Walter, Paul and Albert Robinson.
Calling hours will be held from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871 following the calling hours at the funeral home.
