Catherine DeFelice (Stoddard), 78, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband on July 5, 2021 after a two-month illness.
At the time of passing, Catherine was living with her loving husband, Bernard DeFelice, Sr at Bryant Bridge Road, Saratoga Springs for over 40 years. Before that they lived in Scotia, NY. Born in Niskayuna on May 17, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Dorothy Stoddard.
She is survived by four children, Bernard (Lisa) DeFelice, Jr, Bruce DeFelice, Theodore (Rhea) DeFelice, Rebecca (Rich Kosiba) Hayes. Grandchildren Felicia (Brian) March, Amara (Jeffery) Walker, Jacob DeFelice, Travon DeFelice, Regina DeFelice, Niccoli DeFelice, Giovani DeFelice, Christopher (Amanda) Hayes, Kristine (Brandon) Wolcott, DeShawn Hayes, and Victoria (Zakk Yager) Hayes. Great grandchildren, Carter Hayes, Samuel Hudson, Livella Wolcott, Skarlett Wolcott, La’Cherokee Wolcott, Aurora Wolcott and Zekariyah Walker. Plus, her brother John (Young) Stoddard, sister LaVerne (Malcolm) Stiles and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
Catherine loved to do Sudoku, read the Bible and pray the Rosary every day. She would not miss a novena. She had a notebook filled with names to pray for people that needed a prayer. She always thought of others even when she was ill. She loved to crochet things for her grandchild and great grandchild. Her children and grandchildren were a big part of her life.
She was a member of Notre Dame-Visitation Church for over forty years. She was also part of St. Anne where she led the Rosary. She would go out with the girls after that. She worked for the Town of Saratoga as the assessor. She retired from that and worked a few years with Phoenix truck line before retiring ten years ago.
Catherine is now looking over us all and keeping us safe from Heaven just as she was trying to do when she was here. She will truly be missed by many.
