Carol Singer (née Neubig) Obituary

Carol P. Singer (née Neubig)  September 12, 1941 – January 1, 2025

Carol Patricia Singer, 83, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on January 1, 2025 after a brief illness due to ongoing medical issues. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and creativity touched many lives.

Carol was born on September 12, 1941, in Long Island, the daughter of Harold Neubig (Sally) and Catherine Rohl Tranelli (James). Her early years were marked by frequent moves, her enjoyment of sports, and art school studies.

On May 29, 1965, Carol married the love of her life, John Stephen Singer. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and outdoor adventures. Carol’s career included administrative assistant positions at area law firms, significant contributions to McLane Company Inc., and many years at RN Koch Inc., where her personality, dedication, and attention to detail took her from a sales representative to a district manager.

Carol enjoyed gardening and was a lifelong bowler, but she had a passion for golf and spent many years playing in various leagues at Airway Meadows. In her later years, she rediscovered her love for art and began sketching and painting prolifically, a hobby that brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Her watercolors were admired by many, and she had begun exhibiting her artwork at the LARAC gallery and the Saratoga Farmers Market for the holidays.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, John; her children, Stephen (Wendy) and Eric (Suzie); her grandchildren, Brenna, Ella, and Graham; and her sisters Chris Dell’Aira, Catherine Wright, and Jane Burdick. She will also be dearly missed by the Golf Girls — Deb Burke, Carole Cochran, Ro Esmond, Helen Fischedick, Lynn Hilpertshauser, Nancy Miller, and Ruth Pouliot — and her close friend of more than 50 years, Rochelle Eccher. Carol’s legacy of fun and creativity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visiting hours will be held at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 on Wednesday January 8, 2025 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm, followed by a memorial service to celebrate Carol’s life.
