Bernard J. DeFelice, age 82, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Born on February 3, 1944, in Schenectady, New York, Bernard was the son of the late Earnest and Olive DeFelice.
Bernard dedicated many years of his life as a truck driver with Local 294 in the Albany area, earning the respect of his coworkers through his strong work ethic and commitment to his profession. Outside of work, he found his greatest happiness in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, spending time in nature, and looked forward each year to traveling to Florida, where he could relax and enjoy warmer days. Above all, Bernard treasured the time he spent with his family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
He leaves behind his loving children: Bernie DeFelice (Lisa), Bruce DeFelice, Theodore DeFelice (Rhea), and Rebecca Hayes. He is also survived by his brothers, Gasper DeFelice (Val), Phillip DeFelice (Kathy), and Donald DeFelice; his sister, Rena (Bob); his beloved grandchildren, Felicia, Amara, Jacob, Trevon, Regina, Niccoli, Giovani, Christopher, Kristine, DeShawn, and Victoria; eleven cherished great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine DeFelice, with whom he shared a lifetime filled with love, laughter, adventure, and countless cherished memories. After a life well lived together, they are now reunited once again.
