Ashley "AJ" J. Hayes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ashley "AJ" J Hayes, who departed from this world on Saturday, December 30, 2023, surrounded by his daughter and son in-law.

Born on September 22, 1964, in Glens Falls, NY, AJ was the beloved son of Joan Hayes. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, passion, and a zest for life that deeply touched the hearts of all who knew him.

AJ was a true “jack of all trades” and held many different titles throughout his working years. No matter what job he worked, he made sure it was done in good spirits. His commitment to his craft was a testament to his unwavering work ethic.

Beyond his professional life, AJ was an ardent outdoorsman who found joy in the natural world. He reveled in the simple pleasures of life, often spending cherished moments with his friends, savoring good conversations, cracking countless jokes, and enjoying music together. He loved spending time in his garage making unforgettable memories with anyone that wanted to join him.

In the tapestry of life, AJ's memory will forever remain a vibrant thread, weaving its way through the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will continue to live on in the stories and moments we shared with him, a lasting tribute to a life well-lived.

AJ is survived by his loving mother, Joan Hayes, whose unwavering support was a cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind a proud legacy in his children: his daughter, Vanessa Hayes-Pierce (Steven), his son, Ashley “AJ” Hayes, and his stepson, Jason Lafountain. He is also fondly remembered by his loving big sister, Jackie Alteri and her husband, Tom, along with a wide circle of lifelong friends who were fortunate to share in his life's journey.
