Anne Robbins-Bunker Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Anne Robbins-Bunker, a devoted wife, mother, sister, teacher, and friend. Anne passed away peacefully in the morning of April 19, 2025, at the age of 87, from age-related complications, surrounded by love and the legacy she built over a lifetime of compassion, strength, and service.

Anne was born on April 7, 1938, at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, NY, to Helen A. Robbins and Francis O. Robbins. She was raised in Schuylerville, NY, and graduated from Schuylerville High School. She later earned her degree from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, and went on to teach with great care and dedication, shaping the lives of countless students.

Anne married the late Raymond Bunker, and together they built a loving home in Fair Haven, Vermont, where they also co-founded the town’s rescue squad—demonstrating their shared commitment to serving the community. A devoted wife and mother, Anne poured her heart into raising her children, Kathy and Mikey, both of whom sadly predeceased her. Despite such profound loss, Anne carried herself with grace and resilience, always with a smile on her face.

She was a woman of deep Catholic faith, drawing strength and purpose from her spirituality throughout her life. Her kindness was ever-present, but she was also strong and steadfast—tough when needed, and deeply loyal to those she loved.

Anne had many passions. She was a gifted musician who loved playing both the organ and the piano. Her home was often filled with music that reflected her joy and spiritual depth. She was an avid swimmer and lovingly supported her children through swim therapy. Anne also loved gardening and canning, finding peace and pride in nurturing the earth and providing for her family.

Later in life, Anne found a cherished companion in her partner, Michael J. Lovely. Together, they shared many loving years and the sweet company of their Shih Tzu, Sunshine, who brought happiness and comfort to Anne’s days. Michael’s children and grandchildren also held a special place in Anne’s heart, and she loved them as her own.

Anne was predeceased by her children Kathy and Mikey, her sister Margaret Robbins, and her brother Francis E. Robbins.

She is survived by her nieces Heather Robbins, Kelley Robbins, and Allison Phelps; and her nephew Justin Robbins and his wife Cindy, who provided her with great care and compassion in her later years. Kelley was also a devoted support through many of Anne’s hardest times. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister in law, Mary Joan Carey Robbins and her great-grandnieces Madeline, Lucy, and Josephine.

Her nieces and nephew fondly remember their visits to Vermont—days filled with horseback riding, swimming, laughter, and the warmth of Anne’s care. These memories remain a treasured part of their lives and a reflection of the love she gave so freely.

Anne’s legacy is one of love, faith, resilience, and quiet strength. She will be remembered not only for her music and her garden, but for her generous heart, determined spirit, and the countless lives she touched along the way.
