Anna Cavaliere, age 91 passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at their second home in Gansevoort, NY. Anna was affectionately known as Nonna.
She was born on January 28, 1929 in Torre Orsaia Salerno, Italy, daughter of the late Francesco Cataldo and Albertina Mariosa.
Anna owned and operated a candy store in Corona Queens for many years. She also was a seamstress at a local dress factory in Queens, NY before retiring.
Anna enjoyed cooking, watching the food network, telling stories about her life, and most of all spending time with her family.
Anna was a devout Catholic and prayed the rosary daily.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Angela; son-in-law Peter; granddaughter, Lauren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cavaliere.
A Christian Mass Service will be held at 10:45 am on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at St Margaret's RC Church, 80th St, Middle Village Queens, NY. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm at Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery Flushing, NY following the mass service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lauren Arena Fund for MEAK Research at CHOP.
