Amanda Pelchat Kuon

Amanda Pelchat Kuon, at the age 45, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in her home. She was loved and is mourned by many.

She was born on August 1, 1976, in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of David and Sandra Mullineaux and the late Richard Pelchat.

Amanda graduated from Burnt Hills Ballston Lake class of 1994; The Sage College of Photography 1999; Paul Mitchell The School 2015.

Amanda thrived when she found her passion as a hairdresser. Her clients left feeling more beautiful and lighter in the heart - having met an artist and a therapist.

Amanda’s truest love was her children - nothing made her prouder or happier than Aidan and Leah. We have joked that Amanda could have been a botanist - plants seemed to flourish around her. Her photographic ability to see and capture can’t be matched. She really was artistic in so many areas - macrame, painting, decorating and just generally had a knack for transforming a diamond in the rough. Her imaginative talents were limitless. Her heart and generosity were just as big - the bright light that was Amanda will be missed by all.

Amanda is survived by her parents Sandi and Dave; her son Aidan and daughter Leah; sister Sherri and Charlie Dockum; brother Richard Pelchat and Tresha St. Amour; brother David and Alison Mullineaux; nieces and nephews Maddison and Miranda Dockum, Riley and Weston Mullineaux, Alexis, Alexander, and Jessica Pelchat.

She is preceded in death by her father Richard Pelchat; maternal grandparents Melvin and Evelyn Griffin; paternal grandparents Felix and Mildred Pelchat.

Her memorial service will be held 1 pm on Saturday, December 4th at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave, Saratoga Springs, New York.  Family and friends may call from 11am-1pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Due to the ongoing public health concerns of COVID-19 social distancing as well as wearing of a face mask is recommended.
